Position Overview

  • As a Buyer, you ensure a timely, cost-efficient, and compliant supply of materials, spare parts, indirect goods, and services. You manage purchasing processes end-to-end, maintain accurate documentation, and support warehouse and production continuity while contributing to global procurement standards and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain prices, availability and delivery information.
  • Request and compare quotations, bids, and commercial terms.
  • Negotiate pricing and purchasing conditions within approval limits.
  • Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
  • Ensure suppliers acknowledge purchase orders and confirm delivery dates.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and follow up on delays or issues.
  • Verify delivery documentation and confirm receipts in SAP.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support reduction of excess or obsolete stock.
  • Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality or delivery.
  • Prepare contracts and maintain purchasing documentation and records.
  • Create procurement and cost reports and support KPI tracking.
  • Cooperate with internal departments (Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Finance).
  • Identify improvement opportunities, alternative suppliers, or cost-saving options.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s (preferred but not required).
  • Relevant experience in procurement or purchasing.
  • Ability to analyze quotations, compare offers and support cost-efficient decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple purchasing tasks and follow up on deliveries in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/S4) and purchasing tools.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing principles.
  • Knowledge of materials, spare parts, services, and MRO categories.
  • Understanding of inventory and stock management principles.
  • Knowledge of supplier performance, contracts and compliance requirements.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • Fluent in Dutch, spoken and written.
